Touch lets you delete your account and the personal data tied to it at any time, directly in the app. This page explains how, how to ask for deletion if you can no longer sign in, and exactly what is removed and the small set of safety records we keep.
Delete your account in the app (fastest)
- Open Touch and go to Settings (your profile → the settings icon).
- Scroll to the Account section.
- Tap Delete account.
- Confirm on the "Delete your account?" screen.
Deletion begins immediately and can't be undone.
Can't access the app?
The quickest way is still the app. Install Touch, sign in with the one-time code we text to your account's phone number (or with a Google or Facebook account you linked), and follow the steps above.
If you can't or don't want to use the app, you can still delete your account:
- On the web: go to Delete your account without the app. You confirm the account is yours with a one-time code we text to its phone number, then delete it. It takes a minute and doesn't need the app.
- By email: write to support@touchapp.app with the subject "Delete my account" and the phone number your account uses.
Knowing the number isn't enough on its own: so that nobody can delete someone else's account, we'll only act on an email once you've shown the account is yours, in one of these ways:
- by replying from the recovery email you confirmed on the account, or from the email address of a Google or Facebook account you linked to it; or
- if your account has neither, by confirming with a one-time code sent to that phone number (the web page above does exactly this).
For email requests, we'll then complete the deletion within 30 days (usually much sooner) and let you know when it's done. The web page deletes the account straight away.
What gets deleted
When you delete your account, we remove:
- Your profile and photos, and who you'd like to meet
- Your Journey: your Stations, location estimates, visits, encounter records, and the approximate night-time areas used to protect your home
- Your likes and "Not for me" choices, and your blocks
- Every match you're in, with all its messages, for both participants
- Your recovery email, linked sign-in accounts (Google or Facebook) and your sign-in account itself
- Your device push-notification tokens and service diagnostics
- You are also removed from every other user's Stations
A few short-lived records in our matching pipeline can still refer to your account for up to 30 days, then expire automatically. Location estimates are also deleted automatically after 30 days, whether or not you delete your account. If your phone had estimates it hadn't sent yet, they are discarded after at most 7 days.
What we keep, and why
A small set of safety records is kept even after your account is deleted, so we can keep the community safe and meet our legal obligations:
- Reports and moderation outcomes, deleted automatically 24 months after a moderator has reviewed them (a report is never deleted unread)
- A summary of reports about your account (how many, and by whom), deleted automatically 24 months after the most recent report
- Automated photo-check results, deleted automatically 24 months after the photo is removed
- Automated location-spoofing signals, deleted automatically after 12 months
- Rate-limit counters, deleted automatically after 7 days
- Admin access logs (a record of any admin access to accounts), deleted automatically after 12 months
These records are server-side only and never readable by other users. See the Privacy Policy §7 for the full retention table and the safety-record exception.
